Who should I hang out with?

I just moved to a very small town and attended a new school. It seems like everyone has a best friend. I feel pretty lonely sometimes because I don't have a best friend here. It seems like people here doesn't want to have anymore new friends, they already have their besties. Anyways, I first made a friend with Stephanie, she's a new student to this school but knows the people here. She's pretty much a bragget and a liar. She exaggerates everything. She told everyone that she found out Santa didn't exist yesterday. I mean, she's 13! Then, she started to ignore me and talking to the " best friends group" and during gym, she introduced me to two other girls Kate and Loey. They're besties themselves. I started hanging out with them and we became good "pals". They always stick with each other and I sometimes feel pretty left out. After this, Stephanie completely ditched me for the best friends group. Kate and Loey hung out with two other girls. Gwen and Sara, I hung out with them whenever Kate and loey were on school activities. I became BFFs with them but soon I was chosen as the manager of the crosscountry team. I met Allison there, the girl that this question was mainly based on. She was a not very open hearted person, shes also very " desperate" with friends. I talked with her, she asked me to hang out with her, turns out she was a member of the best friends group. Soon we became besties but I found out that shes a hot n cold kind of person . She started to ignore me for Casey, her best best friend. She never gave me anymore attention. I was completely left out of the best friends group and stephanie treated me like a stranger. After a few more days, Allison was friendly to me again. But she only did that because I'm a A+ student like her. I am so mad at her but shes the only person in cl that has the same grades as me. I have tried talking to her, but she doesn't wanna admit anything. Kate and Loey are besties themselves, so I can't really expect them to be my good friend. There's also a girl maddy, shes a loner in my cl and I'm the only one in cl that thinks shes a friend. I'm currently hanging out with Kate and Loey because Allison is ignoring me again. I'm only staying for a year in this school, and I really just want a best friend. So who do you guys think I should hang out with?
