only part of your query is true, we were indeed founded by the freemason's it was them who pushed so behemently for a free nation and to rebel against England, but if you think the majority of Americans at that time were freemasons you are sadly mistaken. It was a club for the elitists like Franklin, Hamilton, Washington, etc.
