Need opinions on gretsch guitars?

My boyfriend mentioned quite a while ago that he would enjoy having a gretsch white falcon guitar. I know hes been wanting a guitar with a whammy bar for a long time also. Just for the sake of extra information...his style is mainly rock/metal with the occasional blues. Currently ive been aiming for a gretsch white falcon G6136T. Would there be a specific type of white falcon I should aim for? I am trying to aim for a gretsch so if not a white falcon, what other guitar?
